Another Step Closer to Adulthood August 12th, 2019

This week we will continue to dig deeper into Eugenia Collier's Marigolds and begin an exploration of Coming of Age poems. At the end of the week, you will write a Coming of Age poem. Our explorations will help to prepare you for writing your own poetry.

Weekly Agenda

Monday - you and your classmates will shop in the Marigold's symbolism flower shop and rewrite a portion of Marigolds' from Miss Lottie's Point of View
Tuesday - Marigolds Vocabulary Pop Up; Collaborative Poster based on Coming of Age Song using the TWIST method
Wednesday - In groups exploring poems from SpringBoard with Coming of Age themes 
Thursday - Individually exploring a Coming of Age song using the TWIST method; brainstorming Coming of Age Poem
Friday - RI Testing/ Peer Editing and Final Draft of Coming of Age poem
