"Why Romeo, Art Thou Made?"

This week, we will begin our reading of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.  We will read highlights in class, however you are encouraged to read and reread parts on your own using https://myshakespeare.com/romeo-and-juliet 
In addition, to our study we will explore a monologue As You Like It and you will explore an article of how Shakespeare is being used in prisons.  Remember that you can still attend after school tutoring to makeup and retake assessments on Tues and Thurs 3:45-5:00 pm in room 1001. 

Monday - self- directed study of Elements of Drama
Tuesday - Close Reading of Act I, Scene 1 Romeo and Juliet
Wednesday - Close Reading of Act 1, Scene 1-2; Romeo Sketchman Characterization
Thursday - Completion of "Elements of Drama" Self-Study and PowerPoint presentation
Friday -  Ages of You; Kentucky Inmates Turned Actors Explore Selves Through Shakespeare Play pg. 434

This week we will dive into our Unit 3: Coming of Age on Stage. in this unit we will explore the writings of Shakespeare from several of his sonnets ending with a study of Romeo and Juliet. Please make sure that you are checking the blog weekly. Also for the next two weeks if you would like to retake your Unit 2 exam you can on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 3:45 -5:00 pm in room 1001. Please take advantage of this learning opportunity.

We have a flurry of activity going on this week. Make sure that you read the information below and plan your schedules accordingly.  We will be ending our study of  Unit 2: Defining Style and beginning Unit 3: Coming of Age on Stage. If you need to makeup missing assignments or retake exams, you are welcome to schedule an appointment for 9th Lit tutoring offered Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45-4:30 in room 1001. Please make sure that you are studying our Unit 2 Vocabulary Terms on Quizlet
