Dear Scholars, I am looking forward to a GREAT semester of learning, fun and many challenges with the AP Literature curriculum. You have elected to take a demanding college-level class in the study of English Literature and Composition. bell hooks stated in her work Teaching to Transgress that, "The classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in the academy.” This course will be a 'space of possibility.' It is my goal and intent to push you past where you think you can go. My expectations of you are high because you deserve the very best. Our time together will be a partnership. So it will be imperative that you avoid procrastination and shortcuts (like plagiarism) because they will only rob you of precious opportunities to learn. This course can be compared to that of fledgling garden, it will require your daily attention. You will succeed as an individual according to the effort put into the course. I am looking forward to seeing you all score well on the AP exam in May; If you do become overwhelmed or confused, ask questions, seek help. I am here to help.
