Your assignment is to write an original story from real or imagined experiences or events. Your story must include a variety of narrative techniques—such as suspense, point of view, figurative language, imagery, symbolism, and/or irony—as well as telling details and a well-structured sequence of events. Stories will be graded on plot structure, the effective use of dialogue, sensory details, and any of the narrative elements listed above. Your work should be between 400-600 words. (No more than 800).

Each project will include a written description of your project in a well formulated paragraph 5-8 sentences long. Your paragraph will discuss the project your choice, the book you read and how your project best demonstrates the task below. Your paragraph will be supported by textual evidence.

- Create a picture book based on your novel. Use either photographs, magazine pictures, drawings/etc. to represent things that happened in your novel. Put them together in booklet form with a front and back cover. Portray at least 10 main scenes/events in the novel and use a written caption with each picture to explain what is happening. Picture book should tell the whole story (ending & all).
- Create a movie poster to go with a book you read. Select current actors and actresses to play major characters. On the back of the poster (or a separate sheet of paper), explain why you chose those particular actors and actresses for the parts.
- Create a collage on the themes/ideas presented in your book. Give it a title, such as “A Search for Identity,” “Growing Up”/etc. (Poster-sized)
- Create a diorama that shows a scene from your book. (A diorama is a scene in a box—it should be 3- D.
